Friends of the Poor Walk

The Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run is a national program with the purpose of providing local Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conferences and Councils additional funds to help support their services and programs to help local people living in poverty.

In 2016, the Friends of the Poor Walk/Run® attracted over 28,000 walkers, raised over $3.1 million (about $ 200,000 more than in 2015), and held events at 240 different locations across the United States.

In Peoria diocese, we have annual Walks in Peoria and Champaign/Urbana.  Our 2017 walk is planned for Saturday, September 23.

Thank you to everyone who supports the Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run, including every walk coordinator, walker, and donor.

To help make a difference for those living in poverty, please register today to participate in the 2017 Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run! (Stay tuned for registration and donation information coming in August).
